What is the difference between Heilkunst and Naturopathy?

First, let’s look at what they have in common:

1. Both use natural methods to restore health.
2. They have a wide range of different remedies, therapies and approaches.
3. The practice of either requires an extensive four-year training.
4. Each has a professional association representing them.

However, there is a fundamental difference between the two.

Heilkunst is based on the use of all of the different therapies, methods and approaches according to a unifying principle. For example, in naturopathy, acupuncture might be studied, as is the use of herbs, but the underlying principle for each is different, and they are not properly integrated in principle, theory and practice. Because of this, naturopaths tend to specialize in certain approaches they feel more comfortable with, so that the treatments can vary considerably between practitioners.

With Heilkunst, all remedies, therapies and approaches have been carefully integrated into a cohesive framework of principles derived from natural law, which ensures that not only do you get the right remedy/therapy at the right time and in the right order (a critical element in complex, chronic cases in particular), but the approach used by each Doctor of Medical Heilkunst is essential consistent and reflective of this central framework of principles.

Also, Heilkunst is the only approach to our knowledge that has a comprehensive system for identifying the underlying causes of various syndromes, symptoms or conditions, and removing them (which we call ‘cure’), and then supporting at the same time, the organism’s own healing reaction, leading to a complete remediation of even very chronic and complex problems. In such cases, a map of the problems is essential to being able to proceed in an effective manner. Because of its disease identification system, Heilkunst is able to set out the remedies needed for each disease and in the order in which nature demands that they be addressed. Often [with other systems] the right remedy is given, but not at the right time or in the right sequence.

How long does Heilkunst treatment take?

This depends on the patient, as it is very individualized. Logically, a child with few traumas and interventions will go through the treatment more quickly than an adult who has had a lifetime of challenges. The number of traumatic events on the timeline, as well as what takes place in the patient’s life as they go through treatment (giving birth, dental work, death in the family, physical, emotional or mental traumas, inherited influences etc.) will determine how long it might take.

What is a timeline?

A timeline is a chronological listing of the patient’s (human or animal) traumatic events, from pre-birth to the present. It also includes inherited patterns of dis-ease from both the mother’s and the father’s family history. Your practitioner will want to know the types of events that have had a physical, emotional, mental, environmental, chemical, drug etc impact on you. These will include (but not be limited to) ultrasounds, birth trauma, vaccinations, circumcision, whiplash/blows to the head, bad falls, broken bones, surgeries, repeated medications (or an adverse reaction to one), and times of extreme emotion – grief/loss/sadness/abandonment, guilt/shame/self-blame/jealousy/envy, anger/resentment/indignation/humiliation, or fear/terror.

The timeline is used as a general guide for the removing the shocks and traumas of one’s life and inheritances and leading to the restoration of health of the patient, addressing the more significant events with the appropriate remedies. The information therein is used to lighten the life load of the individual – it is like peeling the layers of the onion to get to the real essence of the individual.
